Free to air network MAI TV Fiji today launched its 24-hour web channel MAI TV LIVE becoming the first TV channel in the South Pacific to broadcast LIVE on the internet.
MAI TV LIVE is available for free on-line and is primarily aimed at the thousands of Fijians living overseas.
“We are very proud to be able to offer this service on-line. By simply registering their details people on-line will see a 24 hour stream from Fiji for the very first time”, CEO Richard Broadbridge said.
MAI TV LIVE is available on Mai TV’s homepage and will also offer advertisers and opportunity to market their goods and services to on-line viewers.
Mai TV says while programming will be directly “off-air”, eventually content will be designed for on-line viewers with more local content being provided for Fijians overseas.
“Our research results show that many Fijians living overseas will do anything to see Fiji. In our case they will be able to see our great local shows including Fosters Fiji Today, Sun Insurance Weather Watch, BSP Money, Manoa We Ni Yava, Uto Ni Yalo, Misiki, DIGICEL In-Tunes and the many new shows we have lined up in 2011”, Broadbridge said.
Mai TV has also launched its mobile phone link through Mai TV LIVE where mobile phone users with Data Plans will be able to see Mai TV on their phones.
